24 Hours of London – 5th/6th Hours – Westminster and Southbank
After a blogging hiatus I’m able to resume my report from in last June’s Photo24 photowalk based around Central London.
The previous parts to this series can be found here where I write about the start of our photowalk in High Holborn , exploring the immediate area around High Holborn before taking a tube to take in the bustling Camden Market.
Thereafter we decided to head back to Westminster to examine the end of an anti-austerity demonstration near Parliament before looking along Victoria Embankment.
The demonstration was quite a good-natured event though I admit we only got to see the end of it – though at first I was a bit apprehensive as to what was meant to be going on. When we got outside Parliament the heavens opened , which didn’t do much to dampen the atmosphere at all one jot – though plenty of people ran to find cover…
We then decided to head back to have a look at the Victoria Embankment – the highlight of which was an intriguing memorial to German World War 1 soldiers. The intricate details really brought to life struggle of war.
The weather itself on the whole was a bit drab but (foreshadowing) gave for some excellently moody works as we moved into the 7th hour in London!
