Nottingham City of Literature
Over three months from November 2016 to January 2017 I was commissioned to produce a bank of images which told the story of Nottingham’s successful City of Literature bid. It was important the images I made portrayed the City and the events in a dynamic and cutting-edge way given these are to be used as official documentation with UNESCO. The images are also to be used within the bid team’s social media and marketing collateral.
As part of this (top – bottom) I made images showcasing:
“The Line of Light” art installation – with lines from poems visually projected onto the walls of a railway bridge.
Jack Monroe , a nationally known food writer and austerity campaigner talks at the Nottingham Playhouse as part of the Nottingham Festival of Literature.
A poetry reading , one of many literary events hosted by the independent Five Leaves Bookshop in the city centre.
The launch of The Good Immigrant by Nikesh Shukla at the Nottingham Contemporary.
A first year anniversary celebration by the City of Literature bid team within the Bromley House Library.
A look at the City’s literary heritage with some images of the Library itself , which dates back to the 19th Century and hosts an impressive collection of books.
