Quick takes : A rainbow woodland… (as seen atConnected 2016)
This delightful autumn landscape opened up in front of me last November at Gedling Country Park in Nottinghamshire . Was a very foggy morning to begin with , but slowly the sun managed to gradually burn through the mist , revealing more and more of the landscape ahead of me as the morning went on. When I made this image there was a small remnant of fog in the landscape (seen towards the top of frame) – but it had burnt enough for me to frame this with a telephoto lens.
One of the most satisfying images I’ve made in the past year – mostly because of the element of mystery and wonder. It’s not often that I tend to set the alarm clock to do early morning work , but I’m glad that I ended up making the effort then and was rewarded with a fine series of images!
Another reason I post this is because I’m happy to announce this will be on display at the Connected 2016 landscape exhibition – themed individuality at Patchings Art Centre. The opening event is this coming Saturday the 30th at 1pm with talks from two very talented landscape photographers and I’ll be in attendance. (It’s worth it I reckon for the catering from Christine @melodysparks! )
