Skegness Weekender Residency – UK Young Artists

Got to spend a day in Skegness observing a group of ten artists , of various disciplines and backgrounds , as they formed their own impressions of the seaside town – as part of an artist residency run by the UK Young Artists.

The artists were split into small groups and spent the morning exploring the town – and documenting their thoughts and feelings though notes and sketches , also buying small items which would serve as artifacts (photo-sketches from a booth , for example – 5th from top!).

I documented the artists candidly as they walked the town looking for items and artifacts to include in their presentations to the group – then after lunch (with lots of chips!) saw them discuss what they saw and found – laid out carefully onto a piece of paper which they gathered around.

UK Young Artists worked with Lamar for the first time this year as part of the Young Creative Awards and were very impressed with the quality of this work and approach to the brief. We commissioned him to document one of our weekenders in Skegness and set a brief for this work and how the images were to be used. Lamar delivered over and above and exceeded our expectations. We would be very happy to work with Lamar again and would recommend Lamar to anyone who is looking for high quality work, delivered in a timely manner.
