As part of Broxtowe Borough Council’s relaunch of their heritage programme I was commissioned to create a series of images showcasing the D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum in Eastwood , both in terms of the exhibits and collections they have as well as the people who operate the museum. The museum has a number of rooms which have interior decor and details presented as they would […]

In the light of current circumstances, I figured I’d share how I was making the most of the situation to be able to diversify what I have to offer around work I do as a photographer .There’s two major directions I’m looking at going down – sharing my craft and knowledge which I’ve built up – in terms of learning the artistic and technical […]

Two evenings well spent within November taking a look at the urban landscape found the leafy Park Estate in Nottingham. The estate’s tennis courts sat within a natural dip with interesting views of buildings situated at the top of the hills on roads surrounding the estate. A notable feature of the Park Estate and one I want to make some comments on is that […]

Some takes from a recent commission from the team at Liberty Gate Lettings to make some photographs telling the story of a friendly and successful award-winning estate agency team based within Nottingham. The images included a series of profile images for each member of the team – helping them be recognisable in online social media profiles such as LinkedIn. This helps them network more […]

Ten of my favourite moments from photographing last month’s Notts Tweetup , which met at the Sir John Borlase Warren , with Will Jeffery making an appearance and providing music for the evening . There were also some taster sessions by the Masons and Burleigh’s gin brands on offer from the evening. Once again , a really enjoyable evening and one which I was more than happy to […]

Simon Buckley’s Not Quite Light Weekend festival , as inspiration and for a short break shortly before I’d launched my “Venturing into Nocturnal Nottingham” exhbition at Sobar . In the festival Simon worked with […]

The event brought together a range of local Twitter personalities for informal drinks and networking , with “Antojitos” – small tapas tasters being made available. The musician Josh Kemp was also on hand to share some of his works with us live during the evening.

An extended take on a question I saw at the Sheffield Photographers social media page. Firstly I would begin at using shutter speeds above 1/250s. Firstly it will stop blur because of the motion in the singers. Also , it will also stop blur arising from you holding the camera. The gain (ISO) of the camera will have to be raised up a fair […]

A set of images documenting the deconstruction of two footbridges over Collin Street , Nottingham connecting the Broadmarsh car park , which currently being demolished , to the adjacent shopping centre. I took these following on from a study of Maid Marian Way where I took advantage of road closures on the evening. I was able to stay for a couple of hours to […]

A unusual look at Collin Street and Maid Marian Way in Nottingham which were closed to traffic for two nights in early January 2018 due to demolition works at the nearby Broadmarsh Car Park . Two footbridges were being removed over Collin Street – and I wanted to document some of that (in a later blog) , but I also wanted to take full […]
